K-Visas are NON-Immigrant.

Only after the K-Visa holder enters the USA and then files an I-485 to adjust status and get green-card are they considered to be an Immigrant. They are adjusting status from NON-Immigrant to Immigrant.

K-Visas are handled by the Immigrant visa unit, and since they have immigrant intent they are required to be handled as an immigrant by the consulate.

A Fianc¨¦(e) Is Also an Immigrant

Because a fianc¨¦(e) visa permits the holder to immigrate to the U.S. and marry an American citizen shortly after arrival in the United States, the fianc¨¦(e) must meet some of the requirements of an immigrant visa.

Yes print out 2 copies of the DS-2053.

Also since K-Visas are NON-Immigrant they use I-134 NOT I-864 affidavit of support. The I-864 is used later when adjusting status.

what I meant to say was there is a extra O on the top of the form so it reads NOONIMMIGRANT instead of NON-Immigrant, both copies I recieved have this typo. should I print out new forms just to be safe?

Not an issue.

You can use the online form generator, you can fill it out on DOS website, and print out the DS-156 along with a special bar-code containing all the data entered into the form.

DS-156,,,,,,,Is 2 copies needed in English and 2 copies in Chinese? Recently I read that Line 6,7,15,18,20,must be filled in with Chinese Native Alphabet, similar with Form DS-157. The last DS-157 I copied, had double boxes for each language.

The english one specifies: Your answers must be in English and must use English characters.

In our case my Yu did only the English forms. I asked about this at ACH and the VO told me that if the English forms are understood the can do just the English forms.

Names can be in PINYIN.

DS-157 BOX 3 is for Chinese characters.

GUZ website only has the English versions: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/fo...and_packets.htm

On the GUZ website,,,,,,,"DS-157 Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application. All applicants 16 years of age and older must complete the DS-157 form, type your answers in the space provided below each item and print out the completed form. You don't need its Chinese DS-157, but if you need its Chinese translation to help understand the English form, click here. (Note: When filling out Item 3 "Full Name (In Native Alphabet), Chinese applicants must also fill out items 5,6,7,12, & 17 in Chinese characters.)"......................Much confusion.

You can write names in Pinyin, and then follow it with Chinese Characters.

As for addresses you can use pinyin.

I can not write Chinese characters, and having a difficult time of getting my Fiancee to fill the forms with the correct characters also. I would think with her being an office worker 20 years, it would be easy for her to fill the forms. I send the Chinese version to her so she will understand. I just send the forms back to her, until we get it correct. thanks

I know what you mean!

I traveled to China for my wife's interview, gave her the task of filling in the P4 forms, She filled in all lines win Pinyin and Chinese Characters.

I ended up getting a complete new set of forms from the Consulate at ACH, along with clarification on how to fill in the forms.

I now have a keyboard with Chinese characters on it, but have not figured out how to use it.

If using windows you will need to install a chinese IME.

Most use PINYIN IME.
