yemmie
Hi all,I am not sure exactly the best place to post this.We are getting ready to go to DC to get my last name added to my wife's name on her Chinese passport in the way disussed here (also known as). There are two Chinese Embassy buildings in the DC area. I have been to the one where you get visas to visit China, but I don't know which one we should go to to get the "also known as" added to her Chinese passport. I have tried to find the information on the web site. I just got the embassy number and will call them Monday, if necessary but, has anyone here gone to DC to do this? Is an appointment necessary? Can it be done with same day service? Thanks Link to comment
warpedbored
I don't know about DC but In San Francisco we went to the same office she would go to to renew her passport. Link to comment
dnoblett
Should be same place as passport renewal. We have not bothered and probably wont until the passport needs to be renewed. To travel we book airline tickets in passport names, and simply carry a copy of marriage cert just in case the different name on green-card vs passport is questioned. One note depending on where you live Washington may not be the consulate to deal with it may be New York or somewhere else. http://www.chinaconsulatesf.org/eng/qianzhen/t42287.htm http://www.chinaconsulatesf.org/eng/qianzhen/W020031026589650314898.gif GREEN is handled by the Embassy in Washington DC Edited July 4, 2009 by dnoblett (see edit history) Link to comment
