DS-230 - hard or electronic copy?

For the DS-230 form in P3,

 

is it required to fill in the hard copy attached in the P3,

 

or is it ok to load an electronic copy off http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/fo...and_packets.htm, fill it in on the PC, print it and then send it in?

 

If you have done the fill in of electronic copy instead of the hard copy mailed to you, please share.

 

Also, would the same apply to the checklist?

We filled in the electronic copies and use them, as long as the signature is original this is fine.

The print on the DS-230 is really small, making handwriting it nearly impossible. We filled it out on computer and printed it.

 

And before you ask, A4 size paper is okay even if it's bigger than the original US size!

I have used printed out forms for every single form so far, and I've had no problems. Some of them even printed a tiny bit crooked and had slight gray bands from a crappy printer. In the end, as long as it's the most current form and it's filled in properly, you will be ok.
