China Tries Peddling Its Wares in China?

Most of the world has a heavy stake in America's consumption-based society. There was an commentary recently (I believe in the WSJ or NYT) that posed a "what if..." this is the end of the road for consumption-based economy? "What if..." that economic model finally burned itself out? Responsible people (not dems or pubs - real conservatives) have known for years that fueling an economy with credit purchases was fraught with peril and was really a sort of ponzi scheme.

 

It will be interesting to see if China (and other fiscally conservative societies) can trigger the "buy! buy! buy!" gene in Chinese shoppers when there are so many "save-a money" genes in the people.
