tonado
This morning she passed the written test in Chinese. In order to take the exam, we had to show them 4 IDs (her passport, ss #, marriage cert, and bank statement showing her address). She couldn't take it yesterday because we didn't have anything with her address on it. So I had to open a bank account under her name yesterday. Twice they asked how old she is. In Massachusetts, you have to be at least 16 to take the written test. After she passed the test, she asked me when I am going to find a driving school. Link to comment
Guest R2D2
Tony, What used to work was to mail a few letters addressed to your wife. Most of the State Agencies would accept that as a valid address. Link to comment
newman
Your wife has the right idea about going to a driving school. I've been going it alone with my wife and I'm about a wreck. Link to comment

Bob & Minglian
Yes, congratulations! That's gotta feel good, not only in passing the test but also for being asked twice about her age! I didn't know the written tests could be taken in any language other than English or, perhaps, Spanish. Does anyone know if the written test can be taken in Chinese in states other than MA? I'm in Oregon. I suppose I could call OR DMV to find out but thought someone here might know. Link to comment
orbitalpunk
about showing proof of your address. instead of needing a bank account and waiting for them to mail a statement, just keep the letter that came with your green card when in came in the mail. well this if for CR-1'ers at least. oh, does anyone know if DMV makes a DMV guide book in chinese?
