DOS says case is loaded

Recommended Posts

Guest Rob & Jin

If you look back through the "Circling GUZ" thread it was discussed at lenght.

Loaded= GUZ has electronic file

Open (pending)= GUZ gets paper file , for K visas P-3 is then generated, for CR-1 the wait for a date begins.

The way I understand it is that wen the case is entered in the DOS computer then it is "loaded" at that time. This happens shortly after NVC. Then it remains loaded in the computer until the actual paper case makes it to GZ. Then it is received and the P3 is sent out for K visas and P4 for CR1 visas.

I was not so lucky, I called and mine is still just sent to Gz :o ... so I will wait, of course I will call next week and the week after next :Dah:  either way I wish the best for you my fine young man

Whew ! Jokes Over ! Now, what'd they really say?

IMO the joke's never over when a "visa specialist" tells me to expect an interview date approx 9 months from the time the case left the NVC.

Good Lord - 9 more months.. I'm sorry, I don't recall your timeline at all, and won't make a guess even if I am lucky enough to see it.

I pray it is less than 9 months for you and yours.

That was my understanding... Maybe it's time to mix it up, keep us on our toes, change the terminology one more time.

The good part is that it is usually half what they state on the phone.

When you say loaded, that means they have it in the system? That is fast my man... I tried calling earlier, but I kep getting the the eventually kicked me out. Good luck my man, you deserve it!!

Brother C I assume it means it's loaded in the system. It took 2 days of callin' to get this answer. Your's is probably loaded as well. It doesn't really mean a whole lot to me except the fact that they haven't lost it at this point. :D I must say that I did get a good laugh a the 9 months answer and I thought to myself, will I have enough time to clean my house? :o

my case is loaded in the system ay GUZ also, but my hard copy,is stuck in customs, the lady told me ,it could take up to 120 days to clear customs....where did this package go? to Mars? unbelievable, just unbelievable.

I know what ya mean Jimi. What we are being told is worst case scenario. Looking at the spreadsheet in Circling GZ, the average time from NVC to interview is 4-6 months for a CR1. Next time I call the DOS then I will refer them to this spreadsheet so they can give more accurate information.

Today is the 16th day since GZ signed off on my DHL parcel and DOS still says GZ has not recevied yet. I am going to call DOS next week, then the week after and so on.

Will there be a possibility that GZ sends my SO his P3, but DOS doesn't know about it? My hubby recently moved. I've sent GZ to correct his address, but no reply. My poor hubby spend most of his time after work and before work waiting outside of his old aparment. The local EMS in his neighborhood said they usually don't call the receiver unless the to be delivered address is totally messed up.

Sigh... I wish I can soon be done with this INS process. But after my hubby arrives US, it will all begin again when he files AOS. Sigh...

Approx 3 years ago GZ sent the P3 to the wrong address. I had sent a letter about her change of address and got a confirmation letter from GZ stating they had it. But it still didn't stop them from sending the P3 to the wrong place. Luckily, my then fiancee had told the people that moved in her old house to be on the lookout.

Perhaps you could call the DOS and ask them if they have the updated address in their computer?

Charles, it was 7 months and 19 days for us from leaving NVC to interview, so nine months may not be that far off the mark.

There are, of course, many people who slide through the system more quickly, so you might be one of the lucky ones. You already had enough bad luck, after all. And it does seem like many cases are returning more to the 8-9 month average from filing to interview. You have a good attitude about it, and that is the most important thing.

Only 9 more months Cuzin' Chawls? Dang boy...mebbe you can ask them ol' boys in GUZ for an extension on that 9 months. You know you are gonna need AT LEAST18 or 19 months jest to clean up yore stag pad and get it ready for Jane of the Jungle. :D

Thanks Toplaw! :D You waited 7 months and 19 days then you got the visa. If I have to wait 9 months then so be it and I am sure you would do the same. After that, the waiting will be over. When it comes time for the interview, we will have been together for over 4 years. I think that is long enough to prove a bona fide relationship. There is absolutely no fraud and no chance of her becoming a public charge. But I know it is all in how I present the case. We will see how it goes.

Wait another 9 months? I'm used to it.
