Yeah, they are REAL responsive Scott.

Why just take a look at the responce they gave me when I asked them this one sentence.....

"Have you sent our case to the NVC yet?"

That oblique response is about as good as you'll get. I mean they called me "Dear" for goodness sakes. What more could I ask for? :D

Did I really think they would answer my very simple and very direct direct, one sentence question? HELL NO!!!!! :yay:

I mean, a "YES" or a "NO" was all I was looking for. :)

Next time I will ask the same question... and write in capital letters.

Have you sent our case to the NVC yet?

PLEASE ANSWER YES OR NO.

Respectfully,

Mr. tsap seui

What a novel approach credzba!!!!

My Gawd, here I wuz making it too hard on them and they had to write me a dadgum novel. Shucks, I could just pull the hair out of my Fu Manchu for taking away valuable time from the VO's conjecture and speculation on other people's cases. It's a wonder they don't make me get an appointment to send them an e-mail. :)

But..but...but...they did call me "DEAR".......heck, after I puked (and cleaned it up) I thought, why isn't that dear of them to call me dear...maybe they like me...sniff...sniff... :yay:

Seriously, and I haven't been serious since 1972...I'm gonna ask them the same thing just like you wrote it.

I actually received a few direct responses to emails, but that was when we requested that they postpone an interview for our son. They sent an email to the email address on file and requested a confirmation on their email form.

As for the other requests there were a few that were close enough, but most were form letter response.

of all the emails i have sent, have never gotten what i would call a personal response/reply to anything.....is almost like a computer generated response/reply....is just my opinion that they have a selection of responses for many qestions you might ask and they just select response #1, or #2, or #3, or #4...etc, etc......no thinking or writing for them....just they choose from a menu of responses/replies.

They never really responsed to my questions, but they do response depending on your question.

I emailed about 20 times the past 6 months and questions such as,

"Have you received my overcome mail yet? EMS shows you received it on 06/11/08."

Answer- ...we process our mail based on when we receive them.

But my last email, I asked the exact same question and the response was

"We have received your mail and it's now currently being reviewed by our Consular Officer. "

Perhapse we should add a poll feature to the "ASK GUZ" section!

Oh crap! Can we ban the "other" option for polls?

How's this for a respose?!

I just got an "out of office" auto reply for my GUZ email question I just sent.

:P

Poor Jay ... I'd laugh if it wasn't so sad.

We have gotten substantive replies to e-mails from my daughter to GZ asking about K-2 FTJ issues.

And Jay ... many thanks to Ping for volunteering to pick up my wife at the Chongqing airport tomorrow night. She launched today OK on China Eastern.

Yes, Ping is very excited Jim. She has talked to Chen Chen a couple times at least. It would be joyous to have them return together!

I want to be fair, and add a little balance to this.

I sent email to GUZ asking a specific question (complete with quotes from divorce decree) about whether I needed the fathers approval to bring the daughter to America.

2 weeks later I had not heard anything, so I followed their process and submitted the question again, referring back to the original email.

within 1 week I received a response saying they could not associate the email address I was sending from with my application (I must have used different emails). They told me for privacy reasons I should fax my question, along with (what what what) and they would reply by snail mail to ensure the answer went only to the petitioner.

I did as they asked, and included information that I would be flying to China to be with my wife June 13, so if they didn't reply before then I would not see the answer.

On June 12, someone from GUZ called my wife, and gave her the answer. They asked her if the voice response was sufficient, or if they needed to snail mail me as well.

So, for my question, they not only answered it in person, but went out of their way to get me the answer before I flew to China.

I just wanted to be fair. GUZ really messes some people around, but for the majority of cases the do a good and fair job. The constant discussion of the failures at GUZ make new petitioners and applicants scared, when in fact most will walk through this process easily.

I did send GUZ a question regarding the submission of overcome evidence.

They did directly acknowledge my question and added the necessary ambiguities.

This is about as direct an answer I would expect.

I did receive the answer in one day.

Dear Mr. F****,

Please be advised that we have received the submission of your overcome

documents. Your fiancée's case is in the line of waiting for being

reviewed. We are unable to predict when it will be finished. But rest

assured that we will contact your fiancée immediately by mail once her

case is ready for continued processing.

Yes I used the system only 5 times over the course of 3 months and each time the response was helpful.

First time confirmed receiving case from NVC but only electronic, not paper file.

Second one confirmed sending out P3

Third one was a response that they did not yet receive Yu's P3 paperwork.

Forth one confirmed receiving P3 paperwork.

Fifth one got no response, perhaps looked like prior message about receiving P-3 paperwork.

I was able to confirm P-4 being sent out, and interview date by calling DOS here in the USA.
