I-864EZ and tax forms

Recommended Posts

In checking the instructions for the I-864EZ one last time, I came across this:

'If you provide a photocopy of your tax return(s), you must

include a copy of each and every FormW-2 and Form 1099

that relates to your return(s).'

The only 1099 related forms I had in my return were a 1099G for my state tax refund and a letter from my life insurance company showing interest income of $12 that says "ISSUED IN LIEU OF A 1099 U.S. INFORMATION RETURN."

Should I include copies of these as well?

Not needed, but if you read the directions further you can use simple IRS transcripts in place of (1040/W-2/1099), simple transcripts don't cost anything, and can be ordered over the phone, and show up in a week or so.

Get them here http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

Thanks Dan.

I have the transcripts from 2004 and '05 left from the interview but since I had my accountant make extra copies of my 2006 1040/W2 when I had them done, I thought I would just use one of them. I should be ok just sending it in without the above forms then?

Make a copy of the semi-1099 and attach it, though the amount reported on it is in-significant.
