shi2tou5 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Share Posted April 7, 2003 Acronyms List Proposal Because of new people constantly coming to this message board website, I think it would be nice to create an alphabetical ordered List Of Acronyms (LOA) for reference. I would like to suggest simple format of: Acronym = Full Name (Description) Maybe it would be best to try and keep this one page as opposed to a dozen separate messages? Maybe would want to move this to another place eventually? Would need some way to add new items and/or edit this list. This list is not complete and please add more... ??? = Don’t know or maybe someone else can give better description (used as an “unknown” marker) AOS = ??? (???) BCIS = Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (US Gov’t Immigration dept. formerly known as INS) BH = Black Hole (???) CA = Consular Affairs (???) CFL = Candle For Love (This message board website) DOS = Dept. Of State (???) EMS = ??? (FedEx-like postal service in China) GG = ??? (???) GZ = GuangZhou (Province where US Consulate where all China Fiancé(e) visas are handled) INS = Immigration and Naturalization Service (US Gov’t Immigration dept., now called BCIS) LOA = List Of Acronyms (This acronym list) NOA1 = Notice Of Acceptance (???) NOA2 = Notice Of Acceptance (???) NVC = ??? (???)
