CA organization

Recommended Posts

I have received a few email asking me what I meant by CA, VO/P/I office etc... So I'll post the answer right here

Look at the Consular Affairs organization..

Note: some names have not been updated ( like M. Harty is not listed )

Look at the CA/V0/P office... This is both the congresionnal and public ( yes, that "DoS" line we hate ) enquiries office...

Basic food chain for our purpose is:

1/ SECRETARY OF STATE

11/ BUREAU OF CONSULAR AFFAIRS ( CA )

111/ OFFICE OF DIPLOMATIC AND PUBLIC LIAISON (VO/P)

1111/ Public Inquiries Division ( guys runing the 1225 line )

11111/ Visa and Information microlog ( the actual 663 1225 line ) <--- wayyyy down

1112/ Diplomatic Liaison Division Chief ( I believe visas for foreign diplomats )

1113/ Congressional Inquiries (your senator "info" source most of the time )

Taking the case a step "up", would be at the CA , M. Harty's office

One more step up the food chain would be the "S" office, Good'ol Colin Powell..

Likewise at GZ, you have a (shorter ) food chain...

1/ GZ Consul

11/ Visa section

11/ NIV unit

12/ IV unit

121/ IV unit "information team" Kinda like the 1225 line China-style

Hope this helps :P
