Shipping Stuff

We are (hopefully) coming close to our interview date and my beautifu lao po is getting ready for it and for her trip to the USA. She is preparing to ship some of her belongings to me and I was wondering if there were some tips anyone could offer us regarding what to send, or not send (things that are not allowed, etc.), how much is too much, how much it costs, etc. Just curious. thanks.

I'm disappointed that you haven't heard about your interview yet (we are a week or to behind Fred, so far). They should begin announcing the November dates any day now.

 

I can't help you with the shipping (mine will just bring a suitcase or two), but someone will be along soon to help you out.

we're only bringing her personal items so can't help with any large items. I will be bringing some things back on my upcoming trip, so it will lessen the quantities later.....

good luck, there is lots of experience here, maybe someone can provide more first hand information.

I am going to buy a new propane stove that she cooks with. you cant find those here and I want her to have the same equipment. I will pack in a large suitcase with other things... I do not have gas where I live so I need the portable unit. My stove is electricity and would not cook the same..
