bobmal99
We had a very good turnout for this Hot Pot Dinner, 10 people. Four Americans with their lovely fiances and two lovely woman unfortunately without their fiances. The happy couples were Bobmal99, Donahso, Joseph/Yang, Reed and their lovely fiances. Also at dinner were Kate/enight and Grace. I just want to thank everyone that was at dinner as it was the people in attendance that made this night so special. The dinner and converstion was extremely jovial (happy) as much food was eaten and quite a bit of beer was consumed by guess who? Dinner and the beer (a lot of) which was consumed and the bill was only 283 rmb. For the amount of beer we drank I was amazed at how cheap this dinner was even for China. It was not until the next day when I was discussing this with my lovely fiance Lili, and she told me that whenever you have the Hot Pot Dinner in Shanghai, all beverages are included for FREE!!!! Yes I learned the next day all the beer we drank was actually FREE. Certainly glad I did not know this at the dinner. Everyone had a wonderful time and Bob, Joseph, Reed and their fiances went out dancing at Park 97. Everyone agrees it was a very nice idea and everyone really enjoyed themselves. I strongly suggest anyone going to any city in China in the future, try to hook up with as many people as you can, it was definitely one of the highlights of my most recent trip to China, of which this was my sixth. This site is a wonderful way to connect and meet with people all over China. Meeting new people and cultures are second nature to most Americans, so don't be afraid to try to set up something for your self the next time you travel to China, to be with that special woman. Our trip home to Boston, was pretty uneventful except for the long lines at the Point of Entry, San Francisco. I must also say that I am probably one of the very few men who has had the pleasure to escort TWO FIANCES back to the US and the Boston area. For those of you who may or may not know the lovely Sandy Yu, a friend of enight's & Lili's came back with Lili & I. After 30 minutes in San Francisco airport Lili's first observation of Americans was that there are so many fat people in the US. Then she said Bob you do not look so fat, now that I have seen so many other Americans. Boston had a snowstorm last Friday, and we got over 12 inches of snow. So naturally since this was Lili's first snowstorm I tried to introduce her to that age old American Custom of shoveling out her fiances truck. However, it was here where Lili, also introduced me to an age old Chines Custom called I DON'T THINK SO. Dam me for falling in love with an intelligent woman. Link to comment
