Priority Date

I got the letter informing that our package was sent to GUZ. It says that our priority date is 15 September 2004. I looked up the DOJ website they suggested and they show the current Priority Date for China as 22 July 2001. Anybody know just what this means, and if this effects our visa, is it possible to jump 3 years in just a few months?

Priority dates are meaningless for spouses of USC's. The ones most affcted by the priority dates are immigrants of LPR's that fall into any one of the preference categories.

My wife's NOA for AOS showed the same date in both the receipt date and the priority date fields on the I-797C. It had no bearing on anything that I'm aware of.

 

I see by your timeline that your receipt date was Sept. 15, 2004...there you go.
