  1. Wow ChineseLover, Your story has more twists and turns than the San Francisco highway.

You sound as if you have done so many things to get this ready, but i find it hard to believe that you didn't know about the "Affidavit of support".

It was one of the 1st things i noticed in this whole process. Having to get a sponsor makes it a bit more difficult, but i have no doubt you are capable of this, and that sounds like your only choice. If you are extremely confident about your choices, it shouldnt be that hard to get someone to file as a sponsor. Do you have sisters, brothers, a father? All you need is a proof of being able to support her.

As far as the P4 is concerned, that is coming next. You are closer than I am to recieving it! 4 months seems like that would be the most you'll have to wait.

    Good luck, Patrick

  2. What are the NNN numbers in GUZ 2003 NNN 123?

Mine is 578, what's that mean? I haven't got P3 yet. That 578 is what NVC assigned.

The NNN segment in case numbers is normally the julian date, meaning it can not be greater than 366. Until now, the NVC number would always be greater than 366 and the one assigned by GZ would be 366 or less. So, now I'm stumped unless NVC received your petition about April 1st or August 1st.

My GUZ# doesnt end at 123, it ends with 108! Ya reckon that is the diffrence between a K3 and a K1?

  3. When you sent Guangzhou the E-mail, Did you use the Form E-mail they provide? And what did you put down as your case number. Was it the GUZ # or the Service center # ?

My biggest fear now is.... They will cut out a huge portion of the P3's and then stop so they can go back to the P4's, and i will be left behind still waiting for the P3.

Every step is a test of my patience, so far we have gone through each step at a relatively good pace. It is that 5 weeks between NVC and the actual clearance at DHL that really worked on me.

I am sure i will breathe a big sigh of relief when Guangzhou finally aknowledges to me that they have my Petition in their computer!

The 1 thing that soothes my nerves is....It is knowing that people here at CFL are starting to move through the LogJam!

    Patrick :)

  4. I am looking for information pertaining to what is required to bring a K4 into USA with the K3. I assume you would need some kind of signature from the Father of the child, But, I cannot find anything that says so.

When i filed the I-130 and I-129F, I included the son of my wife on the petitions. Will they automatically issue her son a Visa along with hers? Will it be possible to bring her son to USA without the Fathers permission.

I have tried to do a bit of research, but their doesn't seem to be any laws pertaining to the Hague laws on bringing a child from China.

  5. I have very much sympathy for you Owen. I too have a new son and i love him dearly. He is only 10 years old. He has never known a real Father. Yes, he has a biological Father, but he was never involved in his sons life after the divorce. Unfortunately due to Chinese traditions, the Father thinks of his son as his meal ticket when he gets older, and the Chinese laws will support his right to that. The Father will not sign the paperwork that will allow the son to come with his Mother to America.

My biggest regret is i am taking my new sons Mother away from him, and he will have to go live with his grandparents (The Fathers parents). Of course, we are hoping that when he turns 18 he will decide to come to America on his own. That is 8 years away and things have a way of changing in 8 years. I have grown very close to this boy, and he calls me Daddy. So i am heartbroken that my hands are tied.

I wish i had some magic words for you. I dont believe it is justice for our Gov't not to look at some cases on a hardship basis. Yours would surely qualify!

    Sincerely, Patrick

  6. the instructions say NOTHING about having the letter from employer notarized.

Can't say you're wrong there in fact you are right. The instructions doesn't say the proof of employment letter has to be notarized but I had mine notarized anyways. Nothing to it but take it to your local bank, a co-worker, or even a friend who is a notary public and they don't charge anything to do it or at least I have never been charged. Might as well take that extra step because if there's one thing I learned is that government officials love to see that witnessed signature and especially that embossed seal! So, I myself, get everything notarized. Hell, you should've seen my documents to take to China for marriage. By the time those documents hit every level of government including the Chinese Embassy in DC, there were more embossed seals, signatures, ribbons and medallions on them than the Magna Carta! There is where I learned that governments, both U.S. and China rely heavily on seals and that is where I learned to notarize everything with emphasis on the seal! Notary Publics in the Commonwealth of Virginia do not have to emboss a document with the seal but I always insisted on having that seal too!...like paying in US Postal money orders,,,NO QUESTIONS ASKED.....but that's just me, Joe.

I agree wholeheartedly tywy_99. I went extra lengths to make everything official. Last thing i wanted was for the Chinese Gov't to tell me this paper needed to be certified and i am 7000 miles away from a Notary.

  7. Hello all, I just wanted to introduce my beautiful and most wonderful wife, Li Hong Alexander.

I have tried to encourage her to post here, but she is so shy, like most of the Chinese ladies here.

Anyway, Li lives in Nanning, Guangxi. She is an accountant for Guangxi Professional College. She has 1 son who is 10 years old. We were married on 4-29-2003. She is absolutely the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life. I have never felt so loved then i am by her.

Li's English is very good for someone who rarely uses the language, but she thinks it is "Very Poor". That is why she hesitates to post here. Ya'll be kind to her and please welcome her.

I love you forever and a day my sweet Mei Mei, Patrick

  8. It depends wholly on how she entered the country. If she entered illegally, then she will be deported as soon as they find out. If she entered legally, with no intentions of marrying, and she meets you and ya'll decide to get married. Then you can do the AOS.

    Patrick

I am not a lawyer and i am only offering my opinion based on what i have read on the internet.
