  5. most of DVDs from China are ALL-region which means it should play on any DVD player. in some cases, it's in either region 3 or 6. I would suggest you to buy an fancy one. go to http://www.i118.com/electron/ so far, this is the best one i've seen.

  7. hehe, my wife is doing the same thing at Wuhan. i don't think the air is that bad. I close my windows too because of allergy. My wife is laughing about this. She doesn't understand why the grass and flowers can cause the allergy. I told her after living here 3 years, she will understand.
  8. more bad news.... i just don't understand how the INS or national security's mind working?! they should tight up the visa process in the countries where the most terrorist came from, like the mid east. i think most terrorist are using the tourist visa or student visa to come to U.S and not the K visa. did this already been passed by the congress?

  11. thanks for all your kind help. i call dos and it took a little over 2 hrs before the visa specialist answered my call. she told me my wife's name's check was cleared on May 9. i just updated my time line. now, waiting for the p4 and interview date... thanks again for all your help.
  12. good luck jc. i am in the same situation as you. waiting for the interview. my wife called GZ. a lady told her it will take them at least 2 month to schedule the interview date for her. i hope it's not true...

  14. chinarose, i thought the medical exam should be done after you receive the p4 and before the interview date.
  15. i tried to apply the tourist visa for my wife before we got married. it failed bad. my wife told me they turned her down in 2 min and she felt she was just in there to pay them up.
  16. i went throught my old email achives and found the one that laywer replied me. "No, sorry, they will not give her a visitor visa as long as she has another visa in process." if i knew, i might follow what beijinglady did, spending 3 month with my wife first before this long frustrating process. according to beijinglady, it seems like the processing time is faster than before now.
  17. i thought if you were married in china, you can't apply tourist visa anymore. correct me if i am wrong. i called a laywer for information on this and he told me once you applied for K-3 visa, you can't apply tourist visa anymore.

Hi, everyone, i am so glad to find this site today. i read many posts today and seems like most of you already know your name check status. i didn't hear anything after my wife mailed her package #3 to the consulate. what should i do to check the name check status? thank you so much for your help and wish everyone luck here.
