  1. Just wanted to drop by qiuckly and say we got PINK!

Now just waiting to pick up the visa, and of course it wasn't ready today when the Consulate said it would be ready....

I'll post the details when I get back to the states next week.

Good luck to everyone else and thanks for all the well wishes.

Congrates.....way to go. I believe we are now 5 for 5 on pink :D

  2. Planetary law, such as China's one-child policy, is the only way to reverse the disastrous global birthrate currently, which is one million births every four days.

    http://www.financialpost.com/story.html?id=2314438

Even China's one child policy only applies to a little over a third of the population. Some ethnic groups can have as many children as they want. Who decides which group can have more children than another on a worldwide basis? It's too early to say that the Chinese policy works. We will see how the gender imbalance is going to play out. We would have to see if our values would change to allow us to drown a child in the river if it didn't turn out the way we wanted.

Even a strict one child policy is too hard to implement. There are some people and some cultures that just wouldn't comply. Would you sit idly by why another culture overtook your own? It would have to be a one world government to enforce compliance. And how do you enforce it? Fines don't work, unless you are willing to put poor people in jail when they can't pay. My wife's father was put in jail. Still had two kids. You can murder the excess babies, but I don't see that going over well. Force abortions and sterilizations haven't worked in the past in the US. The lawyers will kill that idea. You can curb births in the US by eliminating the tax benefits for having children and even make families pay more, but it only impacts those people willing to obey. Those that pay no taxes won't be affected. It is probably those, who can least afford it, that you most want to control. How about when there aren't enough working people to pay your social security? How will you impose measures that contradict religious doctrine? There goes the separation of church and state. I don't see it ever happening in the US. It would violate somebody's rights.

    Very well thought out response.

  3. i sent the employment information to my wife for her interview, but now i do not have a job. will the VO check my information on the spot since i did not include it when i filed. i am afraid that a background check will be done before the interview and it might show up that i am currently unemployed.

I am not for sure but I would guess that they would not know that. A back ground check would rarly uncover that you just lost your job...IMO.

  4. Uh, so if we didn't front load the application of a K-1, does GUZ accept them later? We never took any pictures(my camera was in the US, and he uses his phone for that kind of thing, and both of us are not the camera happy people). I'm considering flying back to take those pictures but if GUZ doesn't take them, does that mean my application is already failed? Would it be better if I went during his interview instead and take pictures a few days beforehand?

GUZ will take pictures at the interview. Most of the time they ask if you have any. Just make sure you have several of the 2 of you togther and be able to explain where they were taken if asked. We had 85 pictures at the interview but they only looked at about 10.

  5. Finally! Rachel's, and Jenny's, visa are in their hands!

Rachel went into the Consulate on Tuesday (12/08) afternoon, to present the call-in letter and passports. She was instructed to come back on Wednesday afternoon, where they gave her the Pink Slip, and she made arrangements for the passports to be delivered to the Post Office by EMS. She picked up the package on Friday morning, and flew back home on Friday afternoon.

Rachel spent four nights in Guangzhou, and the poor girl was absolutely bored to tears.

The plan now is for me to fly to Shanghai on February 12th, spend a week with the family, :D then the three of us will fly to the US on February 20.

:happy2: It's a 10 week countdown, until Lao Po and Ni Ni Tou are finally here! It's time to end this year long separation! :happy2:

    That is wonderful news....Congrats

  6. Only way to avoid fee for I-751 (Removal of conditions) is to adjust status after 2 years of marriage,

K-3 can get away with this because they get a 2 year I-94 card and have legal status as a non-immigrant for 2 years, K-3 can file an OPTIONAL I-765 for a work permit (Pay a fee) down side is the medical for the K-3 is only valid for 1 year, so need to adjust status within 1 year of the visa medical or be slapped with having to do a FULL medical to adjust status and pay a doctor nearly as much as removal of conditions fee.

K-1 on the other hand should file to adjust status shortly after marriage, their I-94 card is only valid 90 days, after that and the K-1 holder goes out of status, and can be detained if they encounter a CBP officer when they are out of status, also if out of status more than 6 months, and they attempt to travel using an AP doc, they can be bared from re-entry to the USA.

If I-751 is NOT filed within 90 days before a 2 YEAR CR-Green-card expiration, the penalty is revoked status, and removal proceedings. I-751 MUST me filed to remove conditions. Yo cannot file a N-400 when LPR status is revoked.

Thanks for your prompt response. We did the K-1 so we will need to pay for the I-751. Oh well, our money goes to pay the salaries of the

people at USCIS so without the high fees they would probably lay off more workers and have even longer delays B)

There is one other way but I think AOS is moving faster now. When I was married to my EX from Russia, It took longer than 2 years for our AOS to be approved so she got 10 year green card instead of 2 year with conditions. She never had a 2 year card.

  7. I called today and GUZ Consulate Received the papers.

They said we are approved to get a Interview and to call next week and they could tell me the Interview date. Wow this is great. I will keep you posted. B) B) :) :) :)

Maybe your interview will be the same day as RobertH............Hope it is before his :P

Robert you know I am just joking with you

    Robert

  8. 3timescharm,

I noticed that GUZ lost your paperwork. How did you find that out? I think I might be in the same boat.

Also, how do I participate on the cflgallery timeline? Would like to comfort those who filed around the same time.

    Any help is much appreciated,

    Craig

Believe it or not DOS told me that :) I was surprised that they would addmit loosing anything :) . It all worked out great though. They will get it sooner or later. How long ago did you send P3 back?

My fiancee and I have prepared about as much as we can, we're ready.

I was pretty sick last week with a bad cold or something, but finally feeling well enough and ready to make the trip to be there in GZ.

I'll report the verdict as soon I can!

Good luck and please bring home Pink

  10. Ok I finally got the information from Na about the interview :P . Obviously she can not count because there are more than 3 questions ;) the interview took 3 minutes and no documents were asked for. here are the questions and answers:

    VO...you met online?

    Na...yes

VO...When did he come to see you?

    Na...March 9 to 20 2009

    VO...How do you communicate?

Na...I can speak little English, we used electronic translators

VO...Can you speak answers in English?

Na...My English is poor, I can read and write in English good but have hard time speaking and listening.

VO...Did you know he applied for K-1 for another woman?

    Na...yes from Russia

VO...Do you kow where his ex lives?

Na...He told me but I forget.

VO...Why did he divorce the woman from Russia?

    Na...Gave correct answer

    VO...my god

Na...This is letter explaining divorce from her.

    VO...I do not need it.

    VO...DO you have photo's?

    Na...Yes...gave VO photo's

VO..the little girl is very beautiful

Na..she is my daughter, she really likes Robert

    VO...you get the Visa

Na...thank you very much....in English

After the interview she looked at some of the other pictures and then Na left the counter and went to do what ever they do after interview.

I will say that we really felt at best we had a 50% chance of getting the visa, we had so many red flags. Just a few examples:

1...Previous K-1 that ended in Divorce. Big red flag

2...Na's interview was almost 18 months from the divorce being final. REd flag

3...We met at the end of November 2008 and I went to see her 4 months later and we got engaged and sent papers as soon as I returned. Short period of time. red flag

4...Only 1 trip to see her. Red flag

We had good finances although the economy has really hurt me.

I am not sure why we got it but I am very very happy we did. Na said that the VO was a young and very beautiful woman. I am sitting here thinking of all this and the only reason i can think of that we got the visa is this.

We made a choice in March when I was there to not bring her daughter over right away. We wanted time to get married and settle and learn more about each other. I am wondering if this played a part in the VO's decision. We listed that the daughter would follow later (within a year). Maybe this proved that we had a Bonified Relationship and that if it was fraud she would want her daughter there right away????

Not sure of reason but very happy we got it :D

  11. The local schools around where I live are basically gun and knife clubs. Just bought me a house in a much better school district so if we have our child then I won't have to worry about it.

The better school district is in the mountains of N Georgia about 120 miles from my present house.

I live in Habersham county north GA. and our schools are really good......I only work in Duluth but there are a couple of good schools there....but not all. My ex wife's son was stabbed in the gut at school a few years ago while we were still married. Lucky it was not very bad but as usual, nothing happened to the young man who did this....I mean young thug. The system made excusses for him...he came from a poor family and has trouble at home

I would hazard a guess at a single parent welfare family.

    Yes :P

  12. Robert,

Do not give them ANYTHING extra to test her on. I agree with others that you just need to give them some emails and chat logs and phone records if you have them. Na can speak about 15 words of english and she got her visa. Still waiting for her to return from GUZ so I can post about the interview.

    You speak Chinese?

I can say hello and I love yo in chinese :P

    Rookies!

Tell your SO a Chinese girl said this to you:

Ni neng Shang Lian He Wo Yi Qi Chi Wan Fan Ma?

Ask her how you should respond.

I would love to know what that means ;)

Ask Na she will TRANSLATE it for yiou ;)

How much trouble are yo trying to get me into here
