1. 1. The I-134 is signed by the sponsor under penalty of perjury, then notarized. On page 1, section 7, it states that if self-employed "I have attached a copy of my last tax return ... which I certify to be true and correct ..." Question: What are members' experience with a request by GUZ to provide a second (separate) declaration and notarization of the tax return(s)? In other words, should I do a separate notarized declaration for the three years (yes, I'm being conservative) tax returns, even though a seperate notarized declaration is clearly redundant? 2. If the DS156 and DS157 are completed in English, must the Chinese versions also be completed? I understand the Chinese version is slightly different (asking for SO's name in Chinese Telegraphic Code, for example). 3. "Notarized unmarried certificate." Is this different than the notarized divorce decree? If so, what are folks doing to obtain a notarized unmarried certificate? This is the first I recall having heard of the notarized unmarried certificate. When I sent her off to her home town, I asked her to get notarized birth, police and divorce certificates (all translated into English). Does she have to return to her home town to obtain this document? 4. We completed and signed Part I of the DS-230 for the P3 package, in accordance with the instructions. Do we ever complete Part II? Does she ever sign Part II? I can't find reference to the DS-230 in the P4. Thanks all!
2. Congratulations! Like they say, "The harder you work, the luckier you get!"
3. The new K instruction Packet OF 169 asks you to check off the following. Passports, Two Photographs, Translations, Birth Certificates, Unobtainable Birth Certificates, Police Certificates, Court and Prison Records, Military Records, Evidence of Support, Marital Status Certificates, Original Documents, Resumes, Visa Extension Notice. Some are not applicable in all cases. Specifically the Resumes are required when an applicant's profession requires a large and complex array of skills and/or education. It sounds like "Bring it if you think you need it." The visa extension notice is only if the applicant has been in the US and extended a visa. The rest of what may or may not be applicable is pretty obvious. 232247 Thank you for the information and help.
4. I gave my SO blank copies of all P3 forms so she could compare to her P3 when it arrived. She got her P3 today. She tells me there is new 169 that has 14 questions, not ten as I printed from prior scans. Does anyone have a scan of or link to the apparently new 169? I could use it ASAP so I can review it before she sends it to Guanzhou. Thanks.
5. According to the DHL website, no shipment during the month of June from NVC to GUZ has been delivered to the Consulate yet. (Excepting what I believe are "routine" interoffice documents.) Mid-May shipments from NVC to the Consulate, were only delivered to the Consulate on July 10, 2006, so you may have a little wait remaining.
6. If this has been asked and answered elsewhere, I apologize in advance. On a K1 petition: 1. Does GUZ keep the I-134? 2. Is the I-134 merely a document that you are required to bring to the interview, and if GUZ wants to see it, it is available, otherwise, the benny brings it back home with him/her? 3. Is the I-134 part of the "sealed envelope" that GUZ gives the benny to bring to the US? Thanks all!
7. I hope GUZ uses the lull in K1's from NVC, to perhaps try to get caught up before the flood of post-IMBRA K1's arrives from CIS/NVC. Per DSL tracking (and my error prone math): In March 2006, NVC shipped 223 pieces to GUZ. In April 2006, NVC shipped 117 pieces to GUZ. In May 2006 NVC shipped 76 pieces to GUZ. Presumably the marked decline of pieces is due to IMBRA. In April 2006, NVC took delivery of at least 180 pieces. In May 2006, NVC took delivery of 122 pieces. So far in June with one-half of the month gone, GUZ has only taken delivery of 22 pieces.
8. Good suggestion! Maybe along with the petition, provide detailed information as to how you met, the website, how the website charges the same fee for each member or is free for everyone (assuming that is true), and any other evidence you have that the website does not meet the definition of an IMB.
9. This seems to broaden the definition, since it includes any entity which simply "facilitates communication". 224397 I believe the statute used the term "facilitates communication" as well.
10. http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/newforms.htm And the fillable form: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-129f.htm Just a note of caution, and maybe it is just my pc, but each time I try to load the I-129f in pdf, my pc crashes.
11. 1" padding?? Really?? 224276 Amen! When I come home from China, I have bruises on my hips and elbows from the beds! But I did find a Chinese hotel (not Western) in Guangzhou that has Western king-size beds and mattresses ... Unfortuneately, I rarely in Guangzhou.
12. Congratulations and thanks for the helpful information! Good luck for your future!
13. I have called NVC twice in two weeks and received the exact same answer twice, so I have a higher level of confidence in the answer. Per NVC, the K1 package was received from USCIS. The petition was sent to GUZ three weeks ago. But I have never received a letter from NVC. My question is: Is there anything important in that letter that merits writing and requesting a copy? Or is the letter merely a statement that the petition was forwarded to GUZ and telling me the GUZ case number? Thanks all.
14. Thanks for the "heads up!" In the past two weeks, GUZ has retrieved about 110 pieces from DHL, so hopefully many more P3's are on the way. (As of 6/14/06, NVC shipments through April 24, 2006, had been delivered.)
15. What an admission by Homeland Security! 10,000 couples have been "inconvenienced" when their entire lives have been put not just on hold, but into total uncertainty! How charitable of DHS ...
16. My wife's Son, our Son is flying with her. He speaks English quite well and has volunteered (bless his heart). The ticket prices have been discounted 45% based on the early purchase. I was told this dicount would not be available without early purchase. Round trip Chongqing to Guangzhou is only $180 US this way. I like the part about express Medical report. I will have them call. thanks 222598 If you SO told you it was cheaper to buy tickets now, instead of later, I would never question what your SO is telling you. I think we all know in the US, buying tickets early usually results in bigger savings. However, my SO reports to me, she has had the opposite experience in China. She reports to me regularly on ticket prices for some of our flights in China, and how the closer it gets to the flight date, the cheaper the tickets are. If we try to buy tickets 2 months in advance, she might be quoted close to 100% for the price. If we buy 2 weeks before the flight, the price is usually only 30-40% of the quoted price. We just bought 7 r/t tickets between Shanghai and Shenzhen, for 30%, for flights on June 18th. I would be happy to pass on her travel agents name and phone number (in China). 222676 Yes Please. If you have an agency that can help reduce the cost of airfare, I would be delighted to contact them. Thanks 222908 Sorry this took so long. She says: In Shenzhen: Okey:you know is two company 1. Miss Lu 13613016195 25987777 2. 82253678 82175057 82208616 We normally only pay 30% of full fare, and normally buy our tickets less than 30 days before departure, for flights inside China. For example, last week we bought 5 tickets, for June 18-27 r/t flights from Shanghai to Shenzhen for 30% (630 rmb one way). Good luck!
17. I just want to convey my sincere appreciation to David for all of his outstanding work in maintaining and compiling the statistical data! This is a very valuable tool for all of us and a great benefit to the community. Thank you!

Thanks 222908 It's 12:30 a.m. in China now, so SO's asleep, but I will email her now and ask for phone number where she buys her tickets and let you know. FYI, she only buys tickets for flights inside China from this agent. I buy all of my international tickets using the internet. I.e., Kayak, Qixo and Sidestep.

20. I do not know if it is different, but the same apparent typos and problems with C.2 remain and C.2 appears unchanged (although I did not compare side by side).
